In 2008, the seeds of PROTEUS were sown — a venture that emerged from the dynamic partnership of David and Dawne Morris. With over two decades of successful collaboration and two thriving businesses under their belts, the couple set out to diversify their entrepreneurial endeavors.
It began when Dawne expressed her frustration with the limitations of existing systems, wishing for a solution that combined the best of both worlds. Little did she know, David had been quietly working on just that. When he unveiled his brainchild to Dawne — PROTEUS was born: necessity, technical expertise, and creative thinking fused into one platform.
Today, with headquarters in Southern California and Team Leaders in Nevada, Colorado, and New Jersey, PROTEUS420 illuminates the path forward — still family-built, still operator-first.

Dawne Morris
Co-Founder and CEO · Passion Pusher
Dawne Morris is the co-founder and owner of PROTEUS Business Solutions, Inc., an online enterprise resource platform (ERP) for e-commerce, retail, healthcare, and highly regulated industries — including alcohol and cannabis. She brings decades of finance, digital marketing, and design experience, having previously helped grow PIXELED.net and Illuminated Hosting Service, LLC.
In 2008, Dawne pivoted to cannabis with David Morris to establish PROTEUS420 — one of the first and most trusted seed-to-sale systems. Focused on growth and a streamlined experience while addressing compliance complexity, she integrated internet marketing expertise into the platform so operators could scale. PROTEUS420 supports manufacturing, cultivation, distribution, and dispensary operators across the U.S. and North America.
Her entrepreneurial drive and product instincts made PROTEUS an operational staple. Dawne is also committed to bringing more women into cannabis tech, serving as a co-host partner for Blunt Brunch business events in San Diego.

David Morris
Co-Founder and CTO
David Morris is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of PROTEUS Business Solutions Inc. — an online ERP for e-commerce, retail, healthcare, and highly regulated industries including alcohol and cannabis. A globally recognized entrepreneur with over two decades in application development, data centers, cloud computing, and hardware, he also brings deep programming expertise across mortgage, insurance, financial, social, and high-risk businesses.
During the dot-com era, David founded Pixeled Business Systems and Illuminated Hosting Services. In 2000 he launched PROTEUS Business Solutions; in 2008 he established PROTEUS420 with Dawne Morris.
Named one of the Youngest CEOs by the San Diego Business Journal in 2002, his first venture received further recognition as the 4th Fastest Growing Company (2009) and as an INC 5000 / INC 500 company in the early 2000s.
An elite programmer and traditional artist, David started early — mentored by his grandfather (Master’s in Computer Science, NASA), coding by eight, and building a business in Indianapolis by twelve. He has held top-level DoD security clearance and created concepts for ESPN, Delta Airlines, IAG, and more.
Specialties include application development, data centers, cloud computing, hardware, and programming for financial and social industries.
